Creating and Publishing a Web Form

Creating and Publishing a Web Form

Please review the Web Forms Overview documentation before creating and publishing a Web Form below.

Creating a Web Form

To build a custom form for publishing on your website:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Web Forms from the Site Navigation bar.
  2. Under Build new form, click Start Building.
  3. In the upper right, set a unique Form Name. Each Web Form you create must have a different name.
  4. Set the fields and options you want for your form. Note that First Name and Last Name must be included as required fields.
    • Use the list on the left to select the fields you want included in the Web Form.
    • On the right, use the Order arrows to arrange the order of the fields in the list. This is the order in which they will appear on the final Web Form.
    • On the right, use the Required checkbox to select whether a field must be filled in by a prospect before the form can be submitted.
    • If you would like to create a form that captures information for two people, use the large plus icon at the bottom of the field list to add a second Participant.
  5. Click Next when finished to proceed to the Confirmation message section.
  6. Enter a message you want prospects to see when they have submitted the form to you. Click Next when finished to preview your form and confirmation message.
  7. Optional: If you have the Calendly integration enabled, you can configure an Event invite page to be embedded for prospects after the form is submitted. It will appear just below the confirmation message. See Embedding Calendly in Web Forms for full details on the settings and expected behavior.
  8. Check the form preview and confirmation message. You can use the Back button to return and make changes if needed. Otherwise, click Next to publish the Web Form and receive the URL to embed in your website.
  9. Copy the embed code to publish on your Firm’s website. This process will vary based on your web hosting provider, so see the support documentation for your host or web editor for more information on embedding this link.

Your form is now published and ready to to be filled and submitted by visitors at your website. See Handling Web Form Responses for more information.

If you need your embed URL again, click on the Form’s line to copy the embed code to the clipboard.

Testing Webform

To test your webform or email a direct link to the form instead of embedding it in a webpage, simply copy out the URL from the embed code.

For example, in the below sample embed code, you would copy out the highlighted portion after src to use as a direct link to the form.

Making Changes

Editing an existing form is nearly identical to creating a new form.

Once you enter the Web Forms Setting screen, select an existing Web Form on the right and click Edit Form at the bottom of the list.

The process will be the same as creating a new form, except the existing settings will already be configured. At the end, your changes will be published to the existing URL. There is no need to update your firm’s website to see the changes. You can also use this process if you need to copy the embed URL again.
