Assets or Liabilities can be manually added to a Record from the Record Detail page.
Assets can also be imported from most portfolio management systems. See Asset Import Overview for more information.
- Open the Record in Record Detail view.
- Click Tools > Add Asset and select the type of Asset to add.
- Complete the relevant Asset fields. See below for specifics on the different asset types.
- You may also add a Liability against the Asset you just entered from within the same page. In the Liabilities section at the top right, click Add Liability to apply a Liability against the Asset. Be sure to Save your new entry.
- Click Save to commit your new Asset.
Note: Update the Ownership Value if the Record is not a full Asset owner. To add an additional ownership parties, click Add Owner (each owner must have a Record in AE CRM). The ownership between all owners must total 100%
Asset Type: Business
This option is intended for Businesses owned by the Record. A few specific fields here will help you note the nature, structure, and tax information for the business.
Asset Type: Financial Account
The Financial Account Asset windows includes several additional sections to complete:
- Power of Attorney
- Adding Positions
- Trustees/Beneficiaries
- Money Movement
Asset Type: Personal Property
Personal Property Asset Type can be used for tangible Assets such as a car or boat.
Asset Type: Real Estate
For Real Estate Asset Types, notice you have the option to add a new physical address or link an existing Record or Person address to this Asset.
Asset Type: Stock Option
The Stock Option Asset Type focuses on fields related to the stock, its vesting, and expected value.
Asset Type: Liability
For a straight Liability, this Asset Type will give you access to logging all relevant loan and lien information.
Note:
A Record's calculated net worth will automatically update as you add assets and liabilities to the Record’s Financials.
