Outlook Add-in: Contact Export
The Local Outlook Add-in enables users to export contact data from AdvisorEngine CRM to Microsoft Outlook. This is a one-way synchronization. Due to limitations of Microsoft Outlook Contacts, primarily only Person 1’s contact info on a Record is exported.
To see exactly which fields in AE CRM are brought into which fields in Outlook, take a look at the Outlook Field Mapping PDF
Note: To avoid interfering with your regular contact list, we recommend first creating a folder in your contacts specifically for the CRM export/sync.
Enabling Contact Export
- In Microsoft Outlook, from the Add-in Email Toolbar click the blue question mark .
- Click Options.
- Under Auto Contact Export, select On.
- Click the Refresh button to load your contact folders.
- Use the drop-down to select the Contact Folder to export to.
- Click Initialize.
- A pop-up window appears acknowledging that the sync will start shortly. Click OK.
A new pop-up window starts the exporting process and will close automatically when the process is finished.
Changes made in AE CRM will now automatically synchronize to these contacts. Do not edit these contacts in Outlook directly. Edit the information stored in your CRM so changes show in both locations.
Note: The Contact Export feature sends Person 1 Birthdays to the Contact. If you do not want to receive an Outlook notification for every birthday, you will need to disable the Outlook Birthday calendar.
