Have actions newly assigned to a user display in the user's Pending Action list with bold text or some kind of highlight to show that the action has been newly assigned to the user and has not yet been viewed. Similar to having an unread email in your inbox where it become unbolded/highlighted when reviewed the first time. 

Would facilitate better management of assigned action by identifying those that may be newly assigned and not yet touched by the user.
