Report Optimization For Monthly Items

My team has weekly meetings in which we pull a report with workflow record actions between the first and last days of every month. Currently, we have to manually change the report "between" fields for each new month that we go to run it. I attempted to play around with User Defined Fields to see if I could make a jury-rigged field to get around this but was unsuccessful. 

I think it would be very helpful for efficiency if there was a field in the report assistant that gave the option of a generic "First of Month" and "Last of Month" -- this would make a lot of our reports more "fire and forget" instead of having to manually change with new periods.
