in desktop we could postpone an alert to the due date...for actions that may be 2-3 months away...say for instance a client says on Oct 1 to journal money for my roth IRA contribution on 1/2 we could setup the action for the team member to do but when the get the alert they can postpone the alert until the start date of the action or due date
