Auto logoff when computer is locked or asleep
Our firm's preference is
to allow 24 hours before auto-log off, however I see a note that if your
computer is locked or put to sleep for more than 10 mins, it will override our
preference and log off anyways. I would like to suggest there not be an auto logoff if your computer is locked or goes to sleep for more than 10 mins.
It is pretty
common place for folks to step away from their computers – and lock or put to
sleep – periodically throughout the day while away at meetings, etc. If you're in and out of meetings all day that means you're being logged off multiple times a day and forced to have to log back in. Why offer a 24 hour auto-logoff option, if you'll most likely get kicked out anyways when you go to a meeting? It sure disrupts efficiency.
